Terms & Conditions
Last updated: May 17, 2026
1. Who you're contracting with
The Button Method is operated by Gabrielle Hansen ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using this site or any paid feature, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. The service
The Button Method is a self-guided method for noticing patterns, choosing micro-actions, and journaling about your responses. It is not therapy, not crisis support, and not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or legal advice. If you are in crisis, please contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service for any unlawful purpose, fraud, or spam
- infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy
- attempt to interfere with the security or integrity of the service (probing, scraping, malware, reverse-engineering)
- resell, redistribute, or share paid content with people who haven't paid for access
4. Intellectual property
The Button Method™ name, written content, button system, scenarios, journals, prompts, branding, and software are owned by Gabrielle Hansen. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your personal, non-commercial use within the plan you have paid for. Anything you write into your own journal or custom buttons stays yours — we host and process it only to provide the service to you.
5. Payments, subscriptions, and refunds
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment terms, billing, taxes, and cancellations are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval shown at checkout until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account page or via paddle.net. See our Refund Policy for refund details.
6. Account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Please give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
7. Service level & warranties
We work hard to keep the service available and accurate, but we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, all implied warranties (including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) are disclaimed.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months immediately before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages (including loss of profits, data, or goodwill). Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence where such limitation is prohibited by law.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from content you submit, your unlawful use of the service, or your breach of these terms.
10. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated/serious policy violations. On termination, your paid access ends at the end of the current billing period and your personal journal data will be deleted within 90 days unless you request export sooner.
11. Generative or AI-assisted features
If we offer any feature that generates suggested text, prompts, or micro-actions, those outputs are for general reflection only and may be inaccurate. You are responsible for how you use any suggestion, for verifying anything important with a qualified professional, and for the prompts and content you provide. No deepfakes, hate speech, illegal content, malware, or attempts to jailbreak the system.
12. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the site or by email.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable at our place of business. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
